. . .
So, will 50p now forever be known as a "Chuck" ? :-)
Nope.
Ten bob, now and forever.
And they say the Brits have a superior
sense of humor ............ *
"You can have it for a Chuckie !" would
be a marvelous phrase to hear :-)
The US $100 bill was commonly referred to
as a "Benjamin" because it had a portrait
of Benjamin Franklin ... though that IS
the only bit of the currency commonly
nicknamed. I have on rare occasion heard the
$20 bills called "Jacksons" (but only in
the plural for unknown reasons).
In the latter 1800s the $10 bill had a
portrait of princess Pocohontas (still
a popular figure) and an old $1 "silver
certificate" (which are legal currency)
had a likeness of president Washington's
wife Martha).
Now with "Wokeness" they want to replace all
the "old dead white men" with female political
activists "just because".
